Hello! I am Carol and I am a psychodynamic therapist.
In my early nursing career, I worked with people who experienced physical, emotional and mental health issues, enabling me to develop a passion to support people.
In achieving a BSc (Hons) Psychology, I support people who have courageously reached out for help. I have worked with people facing emotional difficulties, resulting from being diagnosed with rare genetic disorders. I have worked with others affected by childhood sexual exploitation and sexual abuse. I have provided emotional and psychological support to young people and adults within hospitals, prisons and schools. I have worked with the LGBT and transgender community. I have offered specialist domestic abuse, trauma recovery and counselling services.
I work with diverse backgrounds with a range of challenges, including, but not limited to anxiety, domestic abuse, trauma, addiction, bereavement, physical health, rape, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, work-related stress, frustration, historical sexual abuse, shame, and depression.
My work as a therapist follows the Psychodynamic approach. I aim to help you to understand how your current feelings, thoughts and behaviours are shaped by past experiences. Within our trusting relationship, I will encourage you to talk freely about whatever comes to your mind. You can talk openly, honestly and without being judged. The patterns of what lies in your unconscious mind begins to emerge and we will then explore this together.
I love exploring by travelling as much as I can.
