About me

Hello, and a warm welcome to my page. You may be reading this as you that may have be “stuck” or “lost”, feeling anxious, afraid and finding it hard to cope every day. I am here for you to provide you with a safe, confidential space to work together to help you gain greater fulfilment in all that you do. I have specialist experience in helping people who have been impacted by domestic, family or childhood abuse, often leading to relationships problems, depression and anxiety and many other issues. Together we can explore these or any other issues in-person or online. You do not need to feel alone any more. It’s time for your voice to be heard.

I am a Psychodynamic Counsellor, using a trauma informed approach, with many years of experience working within the field of mental health.

My qualifications and professional memberships are:-

Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling: The Garnethill Centre, Accredited by the university of the West of Scotland

Certificate in Counselling Skills: FDAMH, Accredited by COSCA (Counselling & Psychotherapy in Scotland)

BSc (Hons) Psychology: The Open University

I am ICO Registered and committed to protecting your privacy under UK GDPR and BACP ethical Guidelines. In our work together, your data will be stored using password protection on a computer. Any written notes or paperwork is kept in a double locked cabinet. Your name and number will also be stored in a separate phone for work only, using password protection.

Your notes will be held in storage for 7 years, as instructed by my insurance provider. Once this period lapses, all digital data will be permanently deleted and paper records are securely shredded.

What to do if you have a complaint about your data

If you have any concerns or complaints about how I handle your personal information, please email me directly at Caroldobbinscounselling@gmail.com with the subject line “Data Protection Complaint” and I will do my best to address any issues you may have. I take your data privacy very seriously and will handle your concern personally. I will:

  • Formally acknowledge receipt of your complaint within 30 days.
  • Investigate the matter promptly and thoroughly.
  • Inform you of the outcome and any actions taken without undue delay.
